JAKARTA - India wants to learn Indonesia's success in organizing the G20. Especially in the Employment Working Group (EWG) and Labour Employment Ministers Meeting (LEMM).

Secretary General of the Ministry of Manpower Anwar Sanusi said India was not only a way to lead the trial but also a way to manage the activity.

"(So that) it can give an impression and display the Indonesian side in a more complete form of perspective, not only talking about issues being raised, but also talking about socio-cultural issues that are presented so as to create good impressions on other countries," said Secretary General of the Ministry of Manpower Anwar Sanusi in a written statement received in Jakarta, Thursday.

When holding a bilateral meeting with the Manpower Secretary of the Indian Ministry of Manpower Arti Ahuja in Geneva, Secretary General Anwar added, last year the G20 made India the presidency in 2023 to learn many things from Indonesia.

During the meeting, Secretary General Anwar said, Indonesia was ready to support and succeed in the implementation of the 2023 Indian G20 Presidency. Especially at India's G20 Presidency in 2023, Indonesia as a joint chairman with India and Brazil.

Secretary General Anwar said Indonesia supports priority issues raised by the 2023 Indian Presidency, particularly related to efforts to bring skills inequality, social protection, non-permanent worker empowerment or based on projects (gig), and sustainable social security financing.

"What is more important is how we link the theme carried by India with the theme when we were in Indonesia's G20 presidency last year to be sustainable," said Anwar.

He explained that at the G20 Indonesia Presidency last year, five documents were produced and several things were related to the G20 theme of India's presidency. One of the issues, for example, is related to the development of human resources (HR) in the gig platform economy.

"After all, the gig economic platform demands that human resources have sufficient capacity and capability so that they can take advantage of this situation and even increase from the productivity aspect," said Anwar.

Regarding the gig economy, he continued, Indonesia also talked about how the work market was inclusive.

"The work market that provides opportunities for disability groups so that they also play a role in the work market. Our alignment with the group must be a theme that must be carried out," said Anwar.

And, what are the issues related to our strategy to improve the skills strategy of human resources needed.
