The NTB Police will take legal action against firecracker sellers without permission. This is one of the police's efforts to maintain security and public order during Ramadan in Mataram. "The goods were confiscated and the person (seller) was investigated," said Acting Head of Public Relations of the NTB Police, Kombes Lalu Muhammad Iwan Mahardan in Mataram, Antara, Tuesday, March 21. Actually, continued Iwan, there are regulations that regulate the sale of firecrackers. The person may sell if he has obtained permission according to the laws and regulations. "The treatment is included in the explosives category, so it is regulated in the law. Therefore, the law regulates it, so there is a fireworks producer, even that there must be a permit, the seller must also have a permit," he said. The permits pocketed by the sales party are also adjusted to the type of firecrackers to be marketed. "The permits are related to the diameter of firecrackers, some are allowed to be sold in public places, some are only allowed in special places, that's the rule," he said. In welcoming the month of Ramadan, Iwan said that monitoring related to firecracker sales would remain the same as on weekdays. "Even without Ramadan, we will still take action against all forms of security and public order disturbances, such as the sale of firecrackers, firecrackers and so on," he said. This includes the circulation of liquor and activities at nightclubs. He assured that his party was still carrying out supervision in the form of enhanced routine police activities. "For night entertainment venues that are the same, local regulations (regional regulations) have been regulated. Without the month of Ramadan, there are still provisions for opening at what time, closing at what time. Because this is entering the month of Ramadan, of course it will be adjusted to the regional regulations," said Iwan. He added that the police in maintaining public security and order during the month of Ramadan would also carry out operations codenamed "Ketupat". "Because we are in NTB. It is called Operation Ketupat Rinjani in 2023," he said. The routine operation by the police, said Iwan, took place a week before arriving a week after the month of Ramadan. "In Operation Ketupat Rinjani 2023, members will balance it with routine tasks in the field," he said.
