Plenary Meeting Agrees With The PPRT Bill To Become A DPR Initiative Bill, Puan Maharani: Alhamdulillah

JAKARTA - The Draft Law on the Protection of Domestic Workers (RUU PPRT) was approved as a bill on the initiative of the DPR RI in the Plenary Meeting of Session IV for Session Year 2022-2023 which was held at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, March 21. "The honorable council hearing of nine factions has expressed their respective factions' opinions (in writing). Now is the time for us to ask the council hearing whether the bill proposed by the DPR RI Baleg initiative on PPRT can be ratified as the DPR RI's proposal law?" asked the Chairman of the DPR RI Puan Maharani at the Plenary Meeting. "Agreed," answered all faction members at the DPR RI Building. After the plenary meeting, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, said that she was grateful that the PPRT Bill could finally be approved as an initiative bill for the legislative body after being postponed to the previous plenary session. "Alhamdulillah, today in the plenary meeting, the PPRT Law was also included to be included in the DPR's initiative bill related to the discussion of the PPRT Bill. Of course, the discussion will begin through existing mechanisms," said Puan. According to Puan, the law must be a vision between the government and the DPR. Later, he said, the academic text of the PPRT Bill will begin to be discussed together according to the mechanism. Puan emphasized that the DPR will prioritize the quality and benefits of every discussion of the draft law so as not to cause polemics. In addition, his party will also socialize by receiving input from all elements of the nation after the academic text is submitted by the government to the DPR. "So this process must go through a long process in accordance with the mechanism and the DPR certainly has a commitment to immediately complete every bill with the government," said Puan.
