Knock! DPR Approves Job Creation Perppu To Be Ratified Into Law

JAKARTA - The Indonesian House of Representatives approved the Draft Law on Stipulation of Government Regulations in Lieu of Law Number 2 of 2022 concerning Job Creation to be passed into law. The plenary meeting for the ratification of the Job Creation Perppu was chaired directly by the Chairperson of the DPR, Puan Maharani, at the Nusantara II Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, March 21. The plenary meeting was also attended by Deputy Speakers of the Indonesian House of Representatives Dasco, Lodewijk F Paulus, and Rachmat Gobel. Meanwhile, government representatives were attended by the Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartato. After listening to the views of the factions, the leadership then asked for approval from all factions present to ratify the Ciptaker Perppu into law. "Can the Draft Law on Stipulation of Government Regulations in Lieu of Law Number 2 of 2022 concerning Job Creation be approved?" said Puan Maharani. "Agreed," said the meeting participant. Seven of the nine factions in the DPR stated that they agreed and accepted with a note, namely the Gerindra faction, the NasDem faction, the PAN faction, the PKB faction and the PPP faction. Meanwhile, he is another faction that rejects the Democratic faction and the PKS faction. "The government noted from the Democratic and PKS factions that rejected the Job Creation Perppu," said Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto in the plenary meeting room. Airlangga, who represented the government, thanked the Indonesian House of Representatives for approving the Job Creation Perppu into law. "The government and the relevant ministers would like to express their gratitude and appreciation, hopefully the Perppu which has been enacted into a large beneficial law to motivate the impact of the dynamics of the economy," said Airlangga. Today's plenary meeting involved 380 of the 575 members of the Council. It was recorded that as many as 75 members were physically present and 210 members were virtual and the permits were 95 members.
