Saudi Arabia Ready To Serve Congregants In Two Holy Mosques During Ramadan 1444 H

JAKARTA - President of the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques Dr. Abdurrahman As-Sudais, announced the launch of the biggest operational plans at the Grand Mosque (Makkah) and the Prophet's Mosque (Madinah) during the Holy Month of Ramadan 1444 H.

This plan focuses on the journey of the congregation, starting from their arrival in the outer courtyard of the Two Holy Mosques to surrounding the Kaaba at the Grand Mosque, running small runs between Bukit Safa and Marwa, as well as directions towards the prayer area to space for itikaf.

Dr. As-Sudais said the maintenance of the sound system at the Grand Mosque had been completed, and the equipment for the live broadcast of the call to prayer was ready, reported The National News March 20.

Separately, Ismail bin Abed Al Awaidi, assistant director general for digital awareness and director of Awareness Center, said that Ramadan's education services and programs were also ready.

Last week, Sheikh as-Judais published a list of imams who will lead Tarawih Prayers, night prayers that last during Ramadan.

Meanwhile, Dr. Al Anoud Al Abboud, advisor and assistant to the president for Women's Development Affairs of the Grand Mosque, said services had been prepared for female congregations during Ramadan.

He said the agency was responsible for the cleanliness, safety and comfort of the prayer area, the provision of Zamzam water and development plans for women's services at the Grand Mosque.

Meanwhile, Amjad Al Hazmi, deputy secretary of the Raja Abdulaziz Complex for the Cover of the Kaaba, said the kiswah would be examined every day and its maintenance would be carried out by experts from Saudi Arabia if needed.

It is known that if you break the fast together and itikaf, the time when the congregation spends hours in the mosque to worship and pray, will be continued for a full month.

Previously, the iftar activity sponsored by this charity was banned for two years due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Congregants can bring dried food to break the fast, but free iftar food is available.

Especially for Umrah, only those with valid permits are issued through the Eatmarna application (now called Nusuk) who will be allowed to perform the worship

Ramadan this year is expected to start on March 23, although the exact date will most likely be announced on the evening of March 22 by the rukyat committee.
