11 Children In Cirebon Victims Of Trauma Sexual Violence, Minister Of Social Affairs: Must Be Recovered

CIREBON - Ministry of Social Affairs (kemensos) provides trauma healing or trauma recovery for 11 children who have been victims of sexual violence by a teacher in Cirebon Regency, West Java. "Yes (given trauma healing program) to victims through child protection and social services," said Social Minister Tri Rismaharini when meeting with victims of sexual violence quoted by ANTARA, Monday, March 20. Risma said that the victims are currently experiencing trauma after receiving acts of sexual violence by a teacher or madrasa teacher. For this reason, Social Minister Risma asked all of them to jointly eliminate the trauma experienced by minors becoming victims of sexual violence. According to Risma, the trauma experienced by these children needs to be eliminated so that in the future they can get together again considering that they are still reluctant to go to school. "The main thing is that we follow up now for children so that the traumaticity disappears," he said. Risma meets victims of sexual violence committed by unscrupulous madrasah teachers in Cirebon, after receiving information from the media. He hopes that the handling of the case will continue to run, and their victims, as well as their parents can protect, support from all local community leaders, especially local community leaders. "What we do is meeting with children and with parents. There are several problems that we are trying to solve," he said. Previously, the Cirebon City Police arrested one of the teachers in Cirebon Regency, who committed immoral acts against 11 children under the age. "The suspect we arrested with the initials S alias OB, is a teacher in one of the madrasah," said Cirebon City Police Chief AKBP Ariek Indra Sentanu. Indra said the suspect was arrested after officers received reports from parents who felt restless, because their child no longer wanted to recite. According to him, the beginning of the immoral action committed by the suspect occurred in November 2022, until the last time it was carried out around February 2023.

The suspect, continued Indra, had been questioned by his parents first and the suspect admitted that he would leave the village. "However, we received a report from one of the parents, and then arrested the suspect while leaving," he said.
