JAKARTA - The National Police Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) team as a whole has received 111 DNA samples from the families of the Sriwijaya SJ-182 passengers which crashed in the waters of the Thousand Islands.

"As of 17.00 WIB, now the team has received 111 DNA samples," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono in a press conference held at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, East Jakarta, Tuesday, January 12.

In addition, as of today, the National Police Hospital as a whole has received 72 body bags containing body parts and 11 bags containing properties found by the SAR Team at the scene.

"The body bags received were 72 bags, then the team also received 11 property bags," said Rusdi.

Furthermore, after receiving the body bags and property, the DVI Team will immediately carry out an antemortem and postmortem matching process to validate the truth of the identities of the victims.

"Actions are carried out in accordance with the identification, verification and validation activities of the data which are carried out with accuracy and thoroughness so that the identification results can be really justified," he said.
