ART Steals Employer's Money 870 US Dollars In West Jakarta, US Case Ends In Peace

JAKARTA - A Household Assistant (ART) with the initials LA (25) was arrested by the police. He was arrested on suspicion of stealing US$870 or equivalent to Rp. 13 million belonging to his employer, LL (40) on Jalan Sawah Besar 1, Taman Sari, West Jakarta.

The Head of the Tamansari Metro Police, Kompol Adhi Wananda, said the incident occurred on Monday, March 6.

The incident began when the victim ordered ART to clean his room. However, upon arrival in the room, the perpetrator stole the victim's dollar bill

"The victim's money as much as 870 US dollars Or if converted into 13 million rupiahs that have been taken by the perpetrators," said Adhi in his statement, Sunday, March 19.

After getting the Dollar, the perpetrator exchanged it for an unknown person for a sale of Rp. 10.5 million.

"And it was created by someone unknown with a value of 10,500,000." he said.

However, the perpetrator's actions were ultimately thwarted by the police. Now the perpetrator has been successfully secured.

Then, accompanied by the police, the perpetrator and the victim were met with Restorative Justice efforts.

"Where the victim has forgiven the perpetrator's actions and (the perpetrator) is willing to replace the victim's loss," he said

Both sides agreed to make peace and did not continue this issue to the realm of further law

"The two perpetrators then made a statement letter," he concluded.
