"Based on the report we received, the time of the incident on Sunday (12 March), at around 01.00 WIB. The reporter at that time was a bus driver, felt threatened by the incident," he said during a press conference at the Purbalingga Police Headquarters, Central Java, Thursday, March 16 afternoon.

According to him, the incident occurred when the tourism bus passed in front of the Padamara gas station towards Jalan MT Haryono, Purbalingga.

At the same time, a white Etios car with license plate number F-1339-KQ passed by carrying four people who had just left one of the entertainment venues in a drunken state.

The Etios car passenger was offended because the road was covered so they blocked the bus.

The two people who got out of the Etios car approached the bus driver and one of them was carrying a sharp machete.

"On the basis of the report, we immediately carried out an investigation until finally we were able to arrest two perpetrators on Monday (March 13)," said the Police Chief.

He said the two perpetrators who were arrested consisted of MN (42), a resident of Prigi Village, Padamara District, Purbalingga, and AD (28), a resident of Kalimanah Kulon Village, Kalimanah District, Purbalingga.

In addition, he said, his party secured a number of pieces of evidence, including a white Etios car with license plate number F-1339-KQ, a machete, and so on including money requested from a bus driver.

According to him, his party is still pursuing two other perpetrators, namely JM and BD.

In this regard, the Police Chief said that the suspects MN and AD were charged with Article 2 Paragraph 1 of the Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951 and Article 335 of the Criminal Code with a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.

"We urge Purbalingga residents who see or become victims of thuggery not to hesitate to report to number 110," he said.
