The Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection Agency (BP2MI) Kupang facilitated the repatriation of the bodies of two Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) from East Flores Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, who died in a traffic accident in Malaysia.

The two PMIs named Bukhari Tokan (50) and Rosida Folding Mangan (45) died in a traffic accident in the Papar area, Kinabalu City, Malaysia, on Sunday 5 March.

Both are known to be PMI from Lamablawa Village, Witihama District, Adonara Island, East Flores Regency, NTT.

He explained that the bodies of the two PMIs arrived in Kupang City on Wednesday morning at around 06.00 WITA, via flight from Soekaro-Hatta Airport to El Tari Airport.

BP2MI Kupang facilitated the pick-up of bodies by deploying two hearses and officers to together with the family to pick up the bodies at El Tari Airport and escort them to a temporary burial place at a relative's house in Kupang City.

Furthermore, the hearse and officers will take the bodies to the Tenau Kupang Port for the journey of returning the bodies by sea.

The body will be taken by Pelni ship from the Tenau Port of Kupang City to Lewoleba Harbor, Lembata Regency, then continued by crossing the ship to Adonara Island.

"BP2MI Kupang officers will escort the bodies to their homes to be handed over to their families in their hometowns," he said.
