Update On COVID-19 As Of January 11: New Positive Cases 8,682, Healed 7,715

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) has released data on developments in the handling of COVID-19 cases. Based on examination of 38,061 specimens, 8,692 new positive cases were found.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia reached 836,718 people," quoted from data from the Ministry of Health, Monday, January 11.

Meanwhile, for recovered cases, there were an increase of 7,715 cases. That way, the total will be 688,739 people who have recovered from COVID-19. Meanwhile, the number of cases died increased by 214 to 24,343 people.

On the other hand, provincial data with the highest number of additional positive cases are in DKI Jakarta. Based on data, 2,461 people in the capital have tested positive for COVID-19. So that the total residents who have been infected have become 208,583 people.

Then, other provinces with a high number of additional positive cases included West Java with 1,475 cases. Then, Central Java with 1,049 cases, East Java with 792 cases, and South Sulawesi with 616 cases.

Meanwhile, the province with the most cases recovered was also occupied by DKI Jakarta with 2,510 cases. Then, West Java with 1,060 cases, Central Java with 791 cases, South Sulawesi with 552 cases, and East Java with 522 cases.

So far there are 2 provinces recorded without any positive cases. Then, there were 4 provinces that had additional cases under 10, namely North Maluku, Bengkulu, West Sumatra, and West Kalimantan.

In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 7,921,070. In detail, 7,789,519 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 131,551 specimens using molecular rapid tests (TCM).

"The number of positive results per number of specimens examined (positivity rate) was 15.8 percent," he wrote.

For the number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 68,572 people. Currently, 510 districts / cities from 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.
