MALUKU - The former acting head of the Abubu State Government, Nusalau District, Central Maluku Regency, Maluku, with the initials ML alias Martinus was named a suspect in the alleged corruption of the Village Fund and Village Fund Allocation (DD-ADD) for the 2016-2018 Fiscal Year. "We have detained the person concerned after undergoing examination in his capacity as a suspect," said Kacabjari Ambon in Saparua, Ardy in Ambon, Antara, Friday, March 10. The investigation into the alleged corruption case of DD-ADD was carried out by the prosecutor based on the investigation warrant Number: print-02/Q.1.10.1/fd.1/09/2022 dated 12 September 2022. Meanwhile, ML's detention is in accordance with the suspect's Determination Letter Number: B-75/Q.1.10.1/Fd.2/2023 dated 14 February 2023. The ML suspect is also a civil servant of the state who has served as Secretary of the East Saparua Sub-district, Central Maluku Regency and has been appointed as acting head of the Abubu State government since 2016. The investigation of the suspect was carried out by investigators at the Cabjari Ambon Intelligence Room in Saparua accompanied by his legal advisor Gerry Maryo Wattimena from Law Firm Gerry Maryo Wattimena & Associates. "The reason for the detention of the prosecutor was to prevent the person concerned from escaping or eliminating evidence," he said. The suspect was charged with violating Article 2 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended by Law Number 20 of 2021 concerning the eradication of criminal acts of corruption.
