JAKARTA - The Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) strengthens institutional functions by exchanging information as well as sharing experiences in identifying and overcoming risks of state financial supervision.

Chairman of BPK Agung Firman Sampurna said that the functions and roles of the institutions he leads are becoming increasingly strategic amidst the pouring of state funds in overcoming the effects of a pandemic like today.

"Transparency and accountability are two main things of good governance that cannot be negotiated even in times of crisis," he said at the Webinar on Ensuring Transparency and Accountability in COVID-19 Pandemic: a Multi-Stakeholder Approach and Perspective, Monday, January 11.

According to Firman, all stakeholders need to understand and work together to uphold these values even when dealing with other crises.

"During this crisis, BPK will conduct a universe audit. This audit aims to promote the value of inclusiveness, apart from transparency and accountability, because it requires cooperation from all stakeholders to deal with this pandemic problem, "he said.

Firman added, harmonious collaboration between stakeholders can be a real effort in accelerating recovery in difficult situations like now.

"The multistakeholder approach by involving and inviting stakeholders to work together is expected to be a future solution to this crisis," he said.

For information, the online meeting was attended by around 500 participants from various stakeholders, namely other Supreme Audit Institutions (SAI) in the Asian region, ministries / institutions in Indonesia, academics, the Professional Association and BPK auditors.

The seminar presented speakers from the Republic of Indonesia BPK, namely Member III / Head of State Financial Audit III Achsanul Qosasi, The World Bank, International Budget Partnership (IBP), Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) Australia, United Nation Resident Coordinator (UNRC), Australian National Audit Office ( ANAO), BPKP, University of Indonesia and INTOSAI Policy, Finance and Administration Committee (PFAC).
