The panel of judges at the Kalabahi District Court, Alor Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) sentenced former vikaris Sepriyanto Ayub Snae to death for being proven guilty of sexual abuse of nine children. "The case of sexual abuse of nine children in Alor Regency with the defendant Sepriyanto Ayub Snae has been decided by the Panel of Judges of the Kalabahi District Court with the death penalty," said Head of the Legal Information and Public Relations Section of the East Nusa Tenggara Province High Prosecutor's Office, Abdul Hakim in Kupang, Antara, Thursday, March 9. The death penalty for Sepriyanto Ayub Snae was carried out during a trial at the Kalabahi District Court on Wednesday, March 8 and was attended by the defendant Sepriyanto Ayub Snae. Abdul Hakim said that in the decision of the Panel of Judges at the Kalabahi District Court, Alor Regency stated that the defendant Sepriyanto Ayub Snae had been legally and convincingly proven to have committed and persuaded children to have sex which caused more than one victim. Some actions that are seen as standalone acts are crimes that are threatened with similar basic crimes as stated in Article 81 paragraph 2, paragraph 5 in conjunction with Article 76D of Law Number 35 of 2014 in conjunction with Law Number 17 of 2016 concerning Child Protection in conjunction with Article 65 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code by imposing the death penalty. According to him, the death penalty that has been decided by the Panel of Judges of the Kalabahi District Court is in accordance with the demands of the Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the Alor District Attorney who charged the defendant Sepriyanto Ayub Snae with the death penalty. Sepriyanto Ayub Snae, a former Vikaris in Alor Regency, has been sentenced to death by the Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the Alor District Attorney (Kejari) for being the perpetrator of a criminal case of alleged sexual abuse of minors in Alor Laut Timur Laut District, Alor Regency in 2021.
