Members Of The House Of Representatives Of Tamanuri And The Regent Of East Lampung Present As Witnesses In The Bribery Case In Unila

Witnesses who were present at the follow-up trial of the 2022 University of Lampung (Unila) New Student Admissions (PMB) at the Tanjungkarang District Court, Bandarlampung/ANTARA

The public prosecutor of the Corruption Eradication Commission (JPU KPK) presented members of the House of Representatives (DPR) to regional heads as witnesses in the follow-up trial of the University of Lampung New Student Admissions (PMB Unila). "Today we present six witnesses who were all present at the trial," said KPK prosecutor Agus Raharja in Bandar Lampung, Antara, Thursday, May 9. The follow-up trial of the PMB Unila bribery case at the Tanjungkarang District Court, Bandarlampung, over the defendants Karomani, Heryandi, and M. Basri was led by judges Lingga Setiawan, Aria Veronica, Edi Purbanus, Ahmad Rifai, and Efiyanto. The KPK prosecutor said the six witnesses were members of the Indonesian Parliament, Tamanuri, East Lampung Regent Dawam Rahardjo, and Head of the Lampung Province Education Office, Sulpakar. The next witness, FKIP Unila I lecturer Wayan Mustika, Secretary of the South Lampung Education Office Asep Jamhur, and Secretary of the Lampung Nahdlatul Ulama Regional Management (PWNU) Aryanto Munawar. "The first to be examined was PWNU Secretary Aryanto Munawar first because his condition was sick," he said. The six witnesses were asked by the panel of judges to give actual information by oathing on their respective holy books. Prof. Karomani, former Chancellor of Unila, along with two other defendants, namely former Deputy Chancellor I for Academic Affairs, Unila Prof. Heryandi and former Senate Chairperson of Unila Muhammad Basri were also defendants in the alleged 2022 PMB Unila bribery case. In this case, the KPK has named four suspects consisting of three people as bribe recipients, namely Prof. Dr. Karomani (former Chancellor of Unila), former Deputy Chancellor I for Academic Affairs Unila Heryandi, and former Senate Chairperson Unila Muhammad Basri. Meanwhile, the suspect who gave the bribe was a private party, namely Andi Desfiandi, who had been sentenced by the panel of judges.
