Bribery Of Old Sahat Grant Funds, 4 Members Of The East Java DPRD Are Prevented Abroad

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has asked the Directorate General of Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights preventing four members of the East Java Provincial DPRD from leaving the country. This prevention is related to the investigation of the alleged bribery of grant funds that ensnared the Deputy DPRD of East Java, Sahat Tua, P. Simandjuntak. "The investigative team has submitted precautions against leaving the country at the Directorate General of Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia against four people who serve as members of the East Java DPRD," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri at the KPK's Red and White Building, South Jakarta, Tuesday, March 7. Ali did not specify the identities of the four members of the East Java DPRD. Prevention is valid for six months. "And of course it can be extended again as long as necessary," said Ali. This prevention is intended so that they cooperate when questioned by investigators. They are suspected of knowing the practice of bribery committed by Sahat. Previously, Deputy Chairperson of the East Java DPRD, Sahat Tua P. Simandjuntak, had been named a suspect. In addition, there are three other suspects, namely the Sahat expert staff, Rusdi; Abdul Hamid who is the Head of Jelgung Village, Robatal District, Sampang Regency who is also the Coordinator of the Community Group; and Ilham Wahyudi alias Eeng who is the Coordinator of Pokmas Field. The determination of the four suspects was carried out after they were caught in a hand arrest operation (OTT) on Wednesday, December 14. This action is based on information from the public who knows that the handover of money is related to the management of the allocation of grant funds. The KPK said that Sahat allegedly offered assistance to facilitate the proposed grant funds, which totaled Rp7.8 trillion. This provision is intended for agencies, institutions, community organizations in the East Java Provincial Government. Sahat has received since 2021 and continues until 2022 and then is willing to help for 2023 and 2024. The money received by the Golkar Party politician is suspected to have reached IDR 5 billion.
