4 Perpetrators Of The Murder Of A Hoax Victim's Truck Driver Have Been Arrested, But The Victim's Body Has Not Been Found

PAPUA Intending to save itself from violence by a number of residents, a truck driver in Jayapura died at the hands of security while trying to ask for help. The incident that occurred on Monday, March 6 in Meteor Village, Airu District, Jayapura Regency, was revealed after police officers managed to arrest the perpetrators.

Jayapura Police Chief AKBP Frederickus WA Maclarimboen said the victim was a man with the initials H (38), allegedly killed by four perpetrators, SP (21), DA (28), YW (57) and YK (21).

"SP (21), DA (28), YW (57) in Airu District, while YK (21) was arrested when he was in Sentani. For DA (28) perpetrators who were previously fugitives, we have arrested them and temporarily secured them at the Airu Police Post," Frederickus said in his statement, Tuesday, March 7.

Frederickus explained that the incident began when the victim and his colleagues who were truck drivers departed from Jayawijaya Regency to Jayapura Regency. Then after arriving in Malili Village, the five drivers were blocked by a number of local residents on the grounds of being investigated regarding the issue of kidnapping children.

"When an inspection was carried out by local residents, a Triton car and two motorbikes came to the Pelangan TKP (the crime scene) and immediately damaged the truck that was blocked by the community," explained Frederickus.

Seeing the community getting brutal, the victim and his colleagues fled by scattered towards the forest. When the victim ran into the forest, he met one of the security guards from one of the companies. Instead of asking for help, the victim got abused by the security guard.

"The YW (security) perpetrator who has received hoax information about child kidnapping, committed abuse of the victim," he said.

The victim continued to get persecution, until finally the perpetrator took him to a red bridge which was about 500 meters from the PT Yasa Camp.

He continued, YK and SP who were at the location also went to the Red Bridge to take the perpetrator to the location.

"Arriving at the Meteor Bridge, the perpetrator YK slammed the victim in the middle of the Meteor Bridge and stabbed him with a badik knife twice in the chest," said Frederickus.

"Meanwhile, other actors are in charge of monitoring the situation and providing lighting using flashlights," he continued.

After the victim was helpless, the perpetrator tried to eliminate the trail by throwing the body into the Mamberemo River. Then leave the scene.

Furthermore, information on the murder eventually spread to the public until finally to the police.

"Getting this information, the Jayapura Police Team moved to Airu to search for the four truck drivers. The four of them were found by officers in safe condition," he said.

Then the officers searched for the perpetrator until finally the 4 people suspected of committing the murder were arrested. Their contemporaryness has been brought by the Jayapura Police.

"Meanwhile, victims H are still being searched by the Jayapura Police and the Jayapura Basarnas team, assisted by the surrounding community," he concluded.
