JAKARTA - Chairman of Commission D of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Ida Maheasy, suggested that the government relocate residents whose residences were also burned from the Pertamina Plumpang depot fire to Wisma Atlet Pademangan.

Ida expressed this proposal after President Joko Widodo asked his staff to provide a relocation solution. The reason why Wisma Atlet is the proposed location for this new resident's residence is because previously there was a request for Wisma Atlet to be managed by the DKI Provincial Government.

"Why doesn't the DKI Regional Government ask the Minister of State Secretary for the Pademangan Athlete's Wisma to be made (for) they are victims of the fire)," Ida told reporters, Tuesday, March 7.

According to Ida, the Ministry of State Secretariat (Kemensetneg) as the owner of the Wisma Atlet will approve a request for takeover of management for victims affected by the fire. Given, due to the fire accident, they can no longer live in their old house.

"This is an emergency, yes. Instead of looking for a rented house or temporary residence, it's a pity. Relocation to Wisma Atlet, I think it's an emergency. I'm sure, how come, the Minister of State Secretary immediately gave it that the DKI Regional Government would ask Wisma Atlet to be occupied by our brothers who were in a disaster," he said.

After the fire at the Pertamina Plumpang depot, the problem arose that the zoning in the area did not comply with the rules. Pertamina Depot should as a vital object have a buffer zone 50 meters wide around it.

However, the fact is that the distance between the Pertamina depot and the residential area is close by. The two areas are only limited to walls. When the depot fire broke out, residents' houses in Tanah Merah Bawah were immediately engulfed in flames.

Previously, President Joko Widodo asked his staff to decide one of the two relocation options, namely relocating residents or moving Pertamina depots to other places.

SOE Minister Erick Thohir immediately held a follow-up meeting on Monday, March 6 yesterday. As a result, the government will move the fuel depot to PT Pelindo's land.

However, Erick was reluctant to specify the new location that would replace Plumpang TBBM. "We have also closed it down, we will move to Pelindo land, yes," said Erick.

Erick continued, related to this, his party has also coordinated with PT Pelindo and will start construction at the end of 2024. The construction of this TBBM will take 2 to 2.5 years.

"This means that there is still approximately 3.5 years. Therefore, we ensure and we want the support of local governments and the community because this is part of the protection of the community that is encouraged by the President," explained Erick.
