Hooray, Honorary Teachers In Pamekasan Received An Allowance Of IDR 600,000 During The Pandemic

JAKARTA - The District Government (Pemkab) of Pamekasan, East Java, this year will provide allowances for affected honorary teachers. This allowance is to help teachers during the COVID-19 pandemic season.

This was the statement of the Head of the Pamekasan Regency Government Education Office (Disdik), Akhmad Zaini in Pamekasan, reported by Antara, Sunday, January 10. The amount of the allowance is set at Rp. 600 thousand per month.

"This allowance assistance will be disbursed as of May 2021, in accordance with the results of a coordination meeting with the finance division of the Pamekasan Regency Government," he explained.

Honorary teachers affected by COVID-19 who are designated as recipients of the allowance include classroom teachers, Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers, sports teachers, and school caretakers who have been recorded in the main education data (Dapodik).

"Payment is made by a transfer system through the account of each recipient," said Zaini.

The former Secretary of the Pamekasan General Election Commission (KPU) hopes that the program can help ease the burden on honorary teachers.

According to Zaini, the COVID-19 pandemic that hit the world community, including the Pamekasan community, is not only in the health sector, but also in various lines of life, including in the economic sector.

"Teachers are one of the elements that feel the impact of this COVID-19, and because of that, the Pamekasan Regency Government makes a policy that sided with the heroes known as these unsung titles," said Zaini.

Meanwhile, based on data from the Pamekasan District Government Education Office, the total number of honorary teachers spread across 13 sub-districts in Pamekasan Regency was 9,020.
