BOGOR - Bogor Resort Police (Polres) wants to return 40 stolen vehicles to their owners after being detained as evidence of motor vehicle theft, aka theft.

Bogor Police Chief, AKBP Iman Imanuddin said the stolen vehicles which are now parked in his office yard consist of 39 motorcycles and one four-wheeled vehicle.

"We appeal to the people of Bogor Regency for whose vehicles have been victims of crime, please check and coordinate with us, because we also secure evidence of motorized vehicles," said Iman during a press conference at the Police Headquarters, Cibinong, Bogor, Monday, March 6, confiscated by Antara.

He explained that to regain his vehicle, the victims were required to show vehicle documents and proof of ownership to the Bogor Police.

"Please bring the documents, bring the completeness of the documents from the vehicle, to be submitted to them in accordance with the document shown, free of charge," he said.

After holding a press conference at the Bogor Police, Iman also symbolically handed over to the three vehicle owners who were victims of theft.

Iman revealed that the 40 stolen vehicles were secured from 39 suspected motor vehicle thefts (curanmor), four of which were suspects in violent theft (curas) or robbery.

"From the police operation that we have carried out, we have succeeded in uncovering 44 reports with 39 suspects in cases of alleged theft, both stealing and stealing," said Imam.

According to him, the suspects who often operate in Bogor, Sukabumi, and Cianjur were arrested in the last two weeks during the Bogor Police carried out Operation Jaran Lodaya 2023.

The suspect's mode, said Iman, was partly carried out through violent theft (curas) in the form of forcibly taking the victim's vehicle while on the road, as well as theft with weight (curat) in the form of secretly taking the vehicle both at the victim's house and in the shopping center parking lot.

"There are those who use the T key for perpetrators who commit crimes. Then there are also those who use senpi (firearms), for perpetrators who do it with curas modus operandi," he said.
