After The Sea Test, Russia Will Receive The Latest Frigates Admiral Golovko Summer: Equipped With Kalibr Missiles To Tsirkon

JAKARTA - The Severnaya Verf Shipyard in Sankt Peterburg, northwestern Russia, will hand over the latest missile frigate type Project 22250 Admiral Golovko to the Russian Navy in the second quarter of this year

"Based on existing plans, Admiral Golovko will be sent in the second quarter of 2023. Decisions regarding the exact date will be made by the Navy Main Command," said TASS news agency, March 2.

Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported on December 6, the frigate had completed its first round sea test in Finland Bay in the Baltic Sea and returned to the Severnaya Verf shipyard.

The first deployment of this new warship into the sea lasted for ten days. During this period, the frigate crew and the shipyard delivery team carried out maneuverability and speed tests, as well as tested the operation of the assembled, mechanism and system.

Admiral Golovko is the third 22350 Project frigate to be built and produced serially. The main frigates of Project 22350 and the first serial-made frigate, Soviet Union Fleet Admiral Gorshkov and Fleet Admiral Kasatonov, have been operating in the formation of North Fleet missile ships.

The plan, there are ten frigates to be included in the Admiral Gorshkov class. In addition to the three ships above, there is Admiral Isakov (planned to operate in 2024 for the Black Sea Fleet), Admiral Amelko (2026/Armada Pacific), Admiral Chichagov (2026/North Armada), Admiral Yumashev (2027/North Armada), Admiral Spiridonov (2027/North Armada), Admiral Gromov (2029/North Armada) and Admiral Vysotsky (2029/Armada Pacific).

It is known that the frigates from the Project carry the Kalibr-NK and/or Oniks cruise missile systems as basic attack weapons and will eventually be armed with Tsirkon hypersonic missiles.
