Vice President Ma'ruf Amin said the 2024 election stage would continue after the decision of the Central Jakarta District Court (PN Jakpus) in a civil lawsuit filed by the People's Fair and Prosperous Party (Prima). "Preparation certainly continues, everything continues, this is just a decision that will not necessarily get legitimacy, there will be a process, we'll just have to wait, the government will also act later," said Vice President Ma'ruf Amin at the vice presidential palace in Jakarta, Antara, Friday, March 3. The panel of judges who tried civil lawsuit No. 757 / Pdt.G / 2022 / PN Jkt.Pst on March 2, 2023 decided the General Elections Commission (KPU) not to carry out the remaining stages of the 2024 election. "I think that's the decision from the district court, yes, from the judiciary, we are waiting for the KPU to appeal now, because this problem is not an easy problem, right," said the Vice President. The vice president also questioned the authority of the Central Jakarta District Court to determine the postponement of the election. "This is what is being studied, I think the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs has reacted, I think then the KPU is appealing, so we'll just have to wait," added the Vice President.
