Regarding the implementation of teaching and learning activities at 5 am in a number of SMA/SMK in Kupang, the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) DPRD highlighted the threat of intimidation to schools through teachers or school principals. Chairman of Commission V of the NTT DPRD Yunus Takandivewa asked for no intimidation in the application of the rules for teaching and learning activities starting at 5 am in a number of schools in Kupang City. "If that is true, it means that the application of the rules is very intimidating and it is not allowed," said Yunus, Thursday, March 2. Yunus conveyed that it was related to information circulating in a number of Whatsapp groups which stated that there was a threat made by certain parties to teachers and SMA/SMK heads to follow the rules, if it would not be transferred. He said that the NTT Provincial Government should not issue rules or policies that are intimidating because it would cause other prolonged problems. Yununus hopes that dissidential actions do not appear secretly because there is coercion in carrying out the KBM rules. "Maybe the principal or his teachers want to fight fear because there is a threat to be transferred," he said. The condition, added Yunus, would have an impact on the NTT target to pursue better education quality to be very far from the expected targets.
