10 Narcotics Suspects Were Secured By The Pamekasan Police, 2 Of Them Were Women

JAKARTA - Pamekasan Police, East Java arrested 10 suspected drug users. The perpetrators were between 19 and 64 years old and all were residents of Pamekasan. Two of them are female suspects.

"The arrests of the 10 suspects are from January to February 23, 2023," said Pamekasan Police Chief AKBP Satria Permana as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, February 25.

The police chief explained that these 10 people were suspects in nine cases revealed by the Pamekasan Police Narcotics team.

In addition to arresting the suspect, officers also managed to confiscate a number of evidences. Among other things, 2.29 grams of methamphetamine, 60 pills of dangerous hard drugs and 2 pills of inex.

"The arrests were made at a number of locations including Jalan Trunojoyo, Jalan Raya Panglegur, Jalan Raya Jungcangcang and Jalan Raya Nyalabu Laok, Pamekasan," he explained.

Apart from public places, the arrest of the suspect was also carried out in a number of boarding houses and hotels that were used as drug party venues.

To account for his actions, the police charged the suspects with Article 112 of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics with a minimum prison sentence of 4 years.

The police chief explained that the success of officers in uncovering drug abuse in this large number was due to the support and cooperation of all parties.

"Therefore, we express our gratitude. Thanks to the assistance and support of all our parties, we were able to uncover the abusers of this illegal drug," he explained.

Pamekasan Regency is a red zone district in East Java with Sampang and Bangkalan Regencies in the distribution of drug-forbidden drugs.

The circulation of this illegal drug is not only in the city, but also to remote villages, especially in the North Coast area of Pamekasan.

In 2019 the National Narcotics Agency of East Java Province also arrested 8 kilograms of Pamekasan residents who were couriers for Malaysia's network of drugs.
