Moeldoko Don't Want To Stop Violence In The Middle Of The Government Building Papua

JAKARTA - Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko assesses that violence is still happening in the midst of the government's efforts to build Papua is an ironic fact. It was stated that four laws on the formation of a new province in Papua have been officially promulgated after being signed by Indonesian President Joko Widodo last year. The expansion of Papua and West Papua Provinces, he said, is an effort to intensify the acceleration of development and welfare of the Papuan people in particular in terms of equity and public services. According to him, in general, the Papua region is in a safe condition because increasing violence only occurs at certain points in mountainous areas. The government is committed to continuing to seek the creation of peace and security recovery in Papua.

Currently, he said, the Government continues to focus on the reach of access to transportation, health infrastructure, education, and other supporting infrastructure can soon be enjoyed by people in remote parts of Papua, especially in four new autonomous regions. "From an economic political perspective, the government has tried to break the chain of violence through a comprehensive Papuan welfare development policy package," said Moeldoko.
