The Surakarta City PDIP Branch Leadership Council said Gibran Rakabuming Raka had a great chance of becoming governor. Even so, Gibran prefers to focus on fixing Solo.

Chairman of the Surakarta City PDIP DPC FX Hadi Rudyatmo said Gibran had quite good lobbying skills and wanted to build communication with other parties. "Mas Gibran also wants to coordinate with other parties," said Hadi as quoted by ANTARA, February 24. However, he said, regarding the election, the governor remains the prerogative of the PDIP General Chair. "Mas Gibran is still focusing on his duties as Mayor of Surakarta. There are several big projects that are still in the process of being completed. "I focus on Solo first," he said.
