The National Team Training Center At IKN Financing FIFA, Jokowi In Front Of The PSSI Chairman: Towards International Trust

EAST KALIMANTAN - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said that the world football authority, FIFA, also represented international trust in the Nusantara State Capital (IKN) development project through financial assistance for the Indonesian national team training center.

This was conveyed by the President when he visited the IKN IKN sub-regional project area in Penajam Paser Utara, East Kalimantan (Kaltim), Friday, February 24.

"This (training center) will be financed by FIFA, showing that international trust, FIFA's trust in IKN Nusantara exists," said Jokowi on the beach from the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube channel.

Furthermore, the President hopes that the process of building the Indonesian national team training center can be completed within one year.

"So this is immediately for the PSSI football training center which will be carried out soon and is expected to be completed in no more than a year," said Jokowi.

The President directly invited PSSI 2023-2027 officials to review the location for the construction of the training center in IKN, including SOE Minister Erick Thohir who also serves as general chairman of the Indonesian football federation.

"It is an extraordinary honor that you have decided to build a training center in the middle of the city. This is something we will make sure it will be completed soon, because the funds from FIFA have been prepared, it's just a matter of the land process," said Erick.

The chairman of PSSI also admitted that he would find time to invite the coach of the Indonesian National Team, Shin Tae-yong, to come directly to the location for the construction of the Indonesian national team training center at IKN.

Erick's arrival with PSSI officials to IKN followed up on the results of their meeting with the President on Monday, February 20, after the election of the general chairman, deputy chairman, and executive committee (exco) for the period 2023-2027.

At that time, Erick said that the President emphasized the readiness of the Indonesian Government to provide support for infrastructure development for national football development, including the national training center at IKN.
