The Central Lombok DPRD announced that it would be a surprise inspection or inspection in response to the scarcity of subsidized cooking oil in traditional markets and supermarkets in its area in recent weeks.

"We plan to coordinate with related agencies and do not rule out sudden inspections," said the chairman of the Central Lombok DPRD, M Tauhid, in Praya, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Thursday, February 23, as reported by Antara.

From the information obtained, in the last few months, no subsidized oil has been found on the market so to find out the cause, it is necessary to coordinate with the relevant agencies to be able to monitor this subsidized oil stock.

"Technically, the Department of Industry and Trade needs to take this issue seriously so that subsidized cooking oil can be felt by the community. Do not let rare fertilizers, now coupled with the problem of non-existent subsidized oil," he said.

He emphasized that from the information obtained at various subsidized cooking oil markets issued by the central government for residents, they are currently not found in the market. In fact, this subsidized cooking oil is very much sought after by the public to meet their daily needs.

"Later we will contact Disperindag what kind of management for subsidized cooking oil will be because the information is only in Central Lombok, so it is important to trace where it is stagnant," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Central Lombok Industry and Trade Office, H M Suhartono, said that there is currently a shortage of subsidized cooking oil. However, his party assessed that the scarcity of subsidized cooking oil does not only occur in Central Lombok.

"Indeed, the scarcity of subsidized cooking oil does not only occur in Central Lombok Regency, but nationally there is a shortage," he said.

It's just that his party does not know for sure the cause of the scarcity of subsidized cooking oil, but his party has sent a team to find out about the stock of this cooking oil.

"We have dispatched a team to a number of distributors to ensure the availability of the cooking oil," he said.
