Surya Paloh Said About Anies' Vice Presidential Candidate: Never Mind Mas AHY, I'm Also Suitable

Chairman of the NasDem Party Surya Paloh expressed his views regarding whether or not the Chairman of the Democratic Party, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) was a candidate for vice president (cawapres) accompanying Anies Baswedan in the 2024 presidential election. According to Paloh, not only AHY but he is also suitable to be the vice presidential candidate. However, Paloh asked all parties to wait for developments until the momentum for the announcement of presidential and vice presidential candidates from the coalition arrives. "If you ask my opinion, let alone AHY, I also fit in. So we'll see the progress until it's time," Surya Paloh said at a press conference at the DPP Democrat Office, Wednesday, February 22. "But what I understand from a AHY, can the vice presidential candidate, can't the vice presidential candidate too. If asked properly? Once again I say, it's more than appropriate," he added. Nevertheless, Paloh emphasized that the problem of vice president since the beginning of NasDem had submitted his decision to Anies Baswedan. "This is a matter after all, the final decision is in the hands of the presidential candidate, from the start I said, regarding the matter of the vice presidential candidate pair, leave it to the presidential candidate," he concluded.
