INDRAMAYU - Indramayu Resort Police (Polres), West Java arrested four suspects in a gang of cross-regional motor vehicle thieves, who have carried out their actions 13 times. "We have arrested four suspects, and three are still being pursued," said Indramayu Police Chief AKBP Fahri Siregar in Indramayu, Antara, Monday, February 20. According to him, the four suspects arrested were SG, BN, JH, and MK. They are Indramayu Regency reporters, and three others are still being chased by local residents. Fahri explained that the gang of thieves acted not only in Indramayu, but could go to other areas, such as Subang, Cirebon, and others. Meanwhile, according to the confessions of the four suspects, they have committed the theft of 13 of us in several places with almost the same mode, namely using cover to, and taking motorized vehicles at night. "Based on information, the perpetrators always act by hunting areas that are considered to have the opportunity to launch their actions using the T key," he said. He added that the suspects had been in action since 2022, and could only be arrested in February 2023, after his party received surveillance or CCTV camera footage. Armed with these instructions, the team managed to apprehend SG and BN at their hiding place, along with two suspected collectors, namely JH and MK. From the suspect's hands, a number of evidences were found, including T keys, gloves and five stolen vehicles. Meanwhile, officers are still developing related to criminal acts committed by a gang of cross-regional thieves. "As a result of his actions, the four suspects were charged with Article 363 concerning theft and Article 480 concerning stolen collectors with a minimum threat of five years in prison," he said.
