JAKARTA - Central Mamberamo Regent Ricky Ham Pagawak has finally been arrested after being chased by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) since July 15, 2022.

Sources said that the KPK's wanted list (DPO) had only been out of Papua New Guinea for a few days in Abepura, Jayapura.

"He fled to Papua New Guinea. He has only been in Jayapura for a few days," said a VOI source, Sunday, February 19.

This source said that Ricky, who was fugitive after being named a suspect in alleged bribery and gratification and money laundering, was arrested while in his hiding house.

Previously, the KPK named Ricky Ham Pagawak as a suspect in the alleged bribery project in Central Mamberamo Regency, Papua. However, the regent fled and his whereabouts are not yet known.

Ricky is suspected of running away to Papua New Guinea with the help of TNI members. His name is currently included in the DPO.

In this case, the KPK suspects that Ricky received money from contractors who wanted to get the project in Central Mamberamo. One of them, from Marten, allegedly gave IDR 300 million to billions of rupiah.

In addition, Ricky was named a suspect in the alleged crime of money laundering. There were a number of assets confiscated, including eight plots of land and buildings and five cars.
