The Indonesian Medical Team Has Handled 130 Turkish Earthquake Victims, The LARGEST Illness Of ARI

JAKARTA - The Indonesian medical team has served 130 residents affected by the Turkish earthquake in the operation of the Indonesian field hospital, Emergency Medical Team (EMT) in Hassa City, Hatay Province.

EMT Coordinator Eko Mediatianto explained that all residents who access this medical service are outpatients. The most common disease suffered by patients is respiratory problems or ARI.

"Until now, 130 patients have been served with the most diseases, ARI, minor injuries, acute stress, sore throat inflammation and headaches," said Eko in a written statement, Sunday, February 19.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Indonesian Humanitarian Team, Bambang Surya Putra, said that this field hospital provides various services to residents who want treatment.

Hospitals are supported by specialists, general practitioners, pharmacists, midwives, psychologists, nutritionists, epidemiologists, other medical personnel. Bambang conveyed that health services consist of outpatients, hospitalizations, and surgery measures.

EMT consists of general surgeons, orthopedic surgery, anesthesia, paediatrics, eyes, internist, obstetrics, psychiatry, emergency medicine, pediatric specialists and forensics. Bambang added that this field hospital can also get referrals from local hospitals.

"We also have the energy to handle psychosocial or trauma healing for residents affected by the earthquake," said Bambang.

For information, Indonesia opened health services to residents affected by the M7.8 earthquake in Hassa City, Hatay Province, Turkey. Hassa is one of the cities severely affected by the M7.8 earthquake. The city has a population of around 40,000 people.

The operation of the Indonesian field hospital has coordinated with the Hassa City health office and the Turkish disaster management agency or AFAD.

This medical assistance was carried out by EMT through a field hospital that has been operating since Thursday, February 16, 2013. EMT will operate medical services in field hospitals until the end of February.

Meanwhile, the capacity of patients that can be served is 150 to 200 patients every day. minor operations as many as 5 to 10 patients and large operations 2 to 3 patients, as well as 20 inpatients.

The number of personnel sent by Indonesia to EMT is 119 personnel and is supported by medical equipment and medical equipment and medicines. In addition to the medical team, Indonesia also sent a team of Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) with medium classification in Antakya, as well as other logistical assistance.
