National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said he had coordinated the Ministry of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (Kemenpan RB) regarding the plan to develop a new directorate, PPA (preserving women and children). The purpose of developing the PPA directorate is to handle cases of violence against women and children at the maximum. "Regarding the violence between women and children, I think we will continue to strive to start from structural activities some time ago to talk to the Menpan RB regarding the development of a special directorate," General Sigit told reporters, Thursday, February 16. The development of the special directorate that handles cases of children and women aims to make case handling more optimal. Moreover, later it will not only focus on prosecution but also preventive measures. Then, the development of this directorate will also empower female police officers (polwan). This is because in violence with children and women there are many personal sides that cannot be discussed or conveyed to male investigators. "Then we also increase the number of officers because there are private spaces where not all police can invite them to talk, especially not to become victims, become victims the second time," he said. "Of course, we also cooperate with the PPA ministry to provide special handling because there are traumas that must be improved," continued Sigit So, if the special directorate development plan is realized, it is hoped that cases involving children and women, either as perpetrators or victims, can be minimized. "Those things are our concern and of course we will improve these things every day, we will increase cooperation with the relevant ministries so that we can minimize these figures more and more days," said Sigit.
