Risma Active Blusukan In Jakarta, Anies's Men: Homeless People Are Crowded In Sudirman-Thamrin

JAKARTA - The Head of Central Jakarta Social Service, Ngapuli Paranginangin, has examined the condition of people with social welfare problems (PMKS) on Jalan Sudirman to MH Thamrin.

Ngapuli said, after the Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini carried out blusukan, the number of homeless people in the location increased.

"So, when the Minister came (blusukan to meet homeless people), it was crowded," Ngapuli told reporters, Wednesday, January 6.

Ngapuli said the homeless people were actually local residents who lived in Kelurahan Kebon Melati, Central Jakarta.

"Our analysis is that the residents (around) Sudirman-Thamrin are residents of Kebon Melati," he said.

Ngapuli admitted that he did not know what motivated the homeless to gather on the main street in order to meet with Social Minister Risma.

Until now, Ngapuli said that his party was working with the DKI Satpol PP to continue combing the presence of PMKS in the central location of the Capital City.

"If someone needs to be saved, we will save it. Even if someone is sick we take him to the hospital," said Ngapuli.

"Later, if the residents are categorized as homeless, they will be taken to the rehabilitation center in Balaraja, while the elderly PMKS will be taken to the nursing home. If they are ODGJ, we will take them to the Bina Laras Social Home," he continued.

For information, Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini on Monday, December 28 started his work at the Ministry of Social Affairs with blusukan. Risma visited the Ciliwung River basin, behind the Ministry of Social Affairs office. While heading to the Pramuka fly over area, Risma met several families who lived under the bridge.

The blusukan action was resumed on Wednesday, December 30th. Risma went to the residents who lived illegally in the Panjang Gedong toll road area, Pluit.

Then, Risma returned to blusukan by walking along the pedestrian lane on Jalan Thamrin, right on the right side of Plaza UOB, Central Jakarta on Monday, January 4. Risma met a number of beggars.

Of the three blusukan actions, Risma offered one program to the residents she met, namely a proper place to live. The location is the Social Rehabilitation Center for the Ex-Homeless and Beggars Pangudi Luhur in Bekasi, West Java.
