Joko Agus Setyono Is Inaugurated To Be The Regional Secretary Of DKI, Dozens Of Lined Flower Karangans At City Hall

JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono will inaugurate Joko Agus Setyono as Regional Secretary (Sekda) of DKI Jakarta at DKI Jakarta City Hall today.

The inauguration was carried out two days after President Joko Widodo chose Joko's name as the definitive Regional Secretary of DKI. Joko was previously the Head of the Bali Province Financial Supervisory Agency (BPK) Representative.

This afternoon, dozens of flower bouquets began lined up in the courtyard of the DKI City Hall. Starting from government officials, regional-owned enterprises (BUMD) DKI, to private companies also congratulated Joko through the wreath.

Some of the officials who sent flower bouquets included the Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Prasetyo Edi Marsudi, Deputy Governor of East Java Emil Dardak, Pamngdam V Brawijaya Major General Farid Makruf, to the Regent of Pamekasan Baddrut Tamam.

Joko was born in Kebumen, December 11, 1968. He has led the regional level BPK several times. He has served as Head of the East Java Representative BPK Secretariat since 2014, then Head of the Riau Islands Province Representative BPK in 2017-2018.

Furthermore, Joko has served as Head of BPK West Kalimantan since 2020. Then, he assumed the position of Head of BPK Representative for East Java in 2020, and Head of BPK Representative for Bali Province since 2022.

The appointment of Joko as the Regional Secretary of DKI is contained in Presidential Decree (Keppres) Number 13/TPA of 2023 concerning the Appointment of Middle High Leadership Officials within the Provincial Government (Pemprov) of DKI Jakarta which was signed by Jokowi on February 13, 2023.

In the first phase of the selection, there were 10 names of echelon II officials who passed the administrative selection. Joko's name is the most foreign than other candidates. The nine bidders in the position are officials of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. Meanwhile, Joko is the only external official in the capital city.

Various stages of selection are passed. Until the last stage, namely interviews with the selection committee, there are three names left. Joko's name persists. These three names were brought by the DKI Provincial Government to the Palace to be selected by one of them by Jokowi, to be sworn in by Heru.

When elected, Joko canceled two other candidates for the selection of the DKI Regional Secretary who also passed a number of selection stages, namely Dhany Sukma who is currently the Mayor of Central Jakarta, and Michael Rolandi Cesnanta Brata who is currently the Head of the DKI Jakarta Regional Asset Management Agency.
