Kemendikbudristek Will Revitalize 59 Regional Languages Throughout 2023, This Is The List

JAKARTA - The Language Development and Development Agency (Language Agency) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) will revitalize 59 regional languages in 22 provinces by 2023.

"Last year, we carried it out in 13 provinces with 39 regional languages, while in 2023 there were 59 regional languages," said Head of the E Language Agency Aminudin Aziz at a media conference at the Sultan Hotel, Jakarta, Monday, February 13, as reported by Antara.

Aminudin explained, in the 59 regional languages as many as 39 regional languages, including those included in last year's target, so that for this year there will be an addition of 20 regional languages that will be revitalized.

However, according to him, as many as 39 regional languages were re-included this year because the government wanted to ensure the sustainability and vitality of the revitalization of the regional language.

After revitalization, there is no increase in the vitality of the regional language. For example, is there a medium that contains the language or is there a forum formed to discuss in the regional language. This is an indicator that we use," he said.

He revealed that of the 39 revitalized regional languages covering 13 provinces with five regional languages, one of them is also a revitalization program in 2021.

Some of the revitalized regional languages include the Panai dialect Malay language, Angkola dialect Batak language, Sorkam dialect Malay language, Ngaju Dayak language, Kotawaringin dialect Malay language, Danum Uud language (Ot Danum), Maayan language, and Kenyan language.

Then Paser language, Kutai Kota Bangun dialect Malay, Bugis language, Bugis language, Makassar language, Toraja language, Buru Mandat language, Kei language, Yamana language, Balinese language, Sasak language and Mbojo language Samawa language, Dawan language and Manggarai language.
