Governor Khofifah Cluster, 8 Officials At The East Java Provincial Government OPD Positive For COVID-19

SURABAYA - The East Java COVID-19 Task Force continues to carry out tracing after East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa tested positive for COVID-19. As a result, eight officials of Khofifah's subordinates in the East Java Provincial Government were found to be positive for COVID-19.

"Based on the results of the swab test that came out last night (Monday), there were eight people who were confirmed positive for COVID-19," said Director of the Surabaya Menur Mental Hospital, Mochamad Hafidin Ilham, as the person in charge of tracing the East Java COVID-19 Task Force, confirmed, Tuesday, 5 January.

The eight people who tested positive for COVID-19 were officials at the East Java Provincial Government's Regional Apparatus Organization (OPD). They are the Head of the East Java Regional Secretariat's Public Relations and Protocol Bureau Agung Subagyo, the Head of Bakorwil Jember Tjahjo Widodo, the Head of East Java BPSDM Aries Agung Paewai, the Head of the One Stop Investment and Integrated Services (DPM-PTSP) Aries Mukiyono.

Then the Head of the East Java Provincial Agriculture Service Hadi Sulistyo, Head of the East Java Provincial Animal Husbandry Service drh Wemmi Niamawati, Head of the East Java Province Transportation Service Nyono, and Assistant III of the East Java Provincial Secretary Abimanyu Poncoatmojo Iswinarno.

"They were the results of tracing after the Governor tested positive. Currently, tracing is still being carried out on people who have had close contact with the Governor," he said.

According to Ilham, the eight people are currently undergoing independent isolation in their respective residences. Because, they are positive without experiencing symptoms, aka people without symptoms (OTG). "They are all healthy, there are no symptoms. So they do not get treated in hospital, so they are sufficiently isolated independently," he said.

Based on the swab results, the Cycle threshold (Ct) number on their PCR swab test was close to 40 (Cut Off). That means, the number of viruses is already minimal or not infectious, aka the potential for infection is small. The higher the number, the less likely it is to transmit the virus.

"The Ct rate is also high, meaning that the transmission of the virus to other people is weak. That's why they all carry out independent isolation. Hopefully everyone will recover soon, because there are no symptoms or OTG," said Ilham.
