JAKARTA - The National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) stated that it continues to strengthen the resilience of adolescents in dealing with AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (ATM) diseases in North Maluku.

"The data on the number of new cases of people with HIV-AIDS (ODHA) in North Maluku in 2022 will reach 389 cases," said the Head of the BKKBN Youth Family Development Team for the North Maluku Representative, Maurend J. Lesar in his statement in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Saturday, February 11.

Maurend said that of the 10 regencies/cities in North Maluku, the highest number of new ODHA cases were in Ternate City with 121 cases, followed by North Halmahera Regency with 93 cases.

With bad impacts that can affect the quality of the younger generation, the BKKBN then takes a role in preparing youth resilience through the preparation of Family Life for Youth (PKBR) and Reproduction Health (Kespro).

One of the ways taken by BKKBN is to promote a healthy living community movement as a matter of coaching and target the risk behavior of use to become a Zero NAPZA.

He stated that the promotion of the Healthy Life Community Movement was intensified as education to the public. In addition, BKKBN also echoed the campaign to improve the quality of life of teenagers with the title 5 transitions to Youth Life as points in implementing clean and healthy life.

"With this support, we hope that BKKBN's support in eliminating ATMs, especially in North Maluku, will be achieved," said Maurend.

Chairman of the Indonesian Planning Generation Forum (GenRe) of North Maluku Province Muhammad Rizal added that as a vulnerable age group in the three diseases, the integrity of stakeholders in tackling ATMs is very important to help strengthen the resilience of adolescents in dealing with the disease.

"There needs to be integration that includes cooperation between various sectors, such as the health, education and social sectors to ensure that ATM countermeasures are truly effective and integrated. This also ensures that teenagers have easier and faster access to the information and services needed," said Rizal.
