TRENGGALEK - The Trenggalek Regency Government, East Java, is auctioning off 48 cattle, sheep, and goats cultivated at the UPT and agropark levels, because they are considered unproductive, as well as to overcome excess capacity.
"The auction starts from February 8-13. The auction will close on Monday (13/2) at 13.30 WIB," said the Head of Production Development and Livestock Business at the Trenggalek Regency Animal Husbandry Service Yoyon Harianto as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, February 9.
The auction process is carried out officially through the state auction agency, KPKNL Malang. There are several types of livestock being auctioned, from galakan cows, PE sheep, boor goats, and other types.
The total value of the auction that has been opened reaches IDR 243 million and could increase in line with the bids of the auction participants.
"For various ages, there are broodstock and puppies," he said.
According to Yoyon, dozens of livestock were auctioned off for various reasons, ranging from the age of livestock productivity to the carrying capacity of the farm site.

The dozens of livestock that were auctioned came from Agropark and two livestock technical implementation units in Ngadirenggo and Dilem Wilis.
"For example in Taman Agropark, the capacity for goats there is six. When there were already 12 of them. In terms of the capacity to accommodate these, it was not ideal, including those that were rejected at UPT Ngadirenggo and Dilem Wilis," said Yoyon.
His party is targeting local revenue of IDR 200 million from the auctioned cattle.
However, his party said that they faced problems because the selling price of goats at that time had decreased. This condition is inversely proportional to the price of livestock which is still high at the time of price appraisal.
"Yesterday, we submitted it in October 2022 because the process and so on can only be realized this time. And, the challenge now is that the selling price has fallen, for around one month. Because when the appraisal was carried out, the selling price was still high," he explained.
Yoyon said he was optimistic that the dozens of livestock that were auctioned would sell a lot near the Eid al-Adha momentum.
