Sure Will Can Catch Harun Masiku, KPK Make Sure All Fugitives Are Buried

JAKARTA - The KPK has never doubts that one day it will be able to arrest all of their fugitives, including former legislative candidate Harun Masiku. The briber of former General Elections Commission (KPU) Commissioner Wahyu Setiawan is certain and is being pursued.

"I think we all have to be optimistic in law enforcement efforts without being prejudiced and perceptions, so negative or making narratives that are then as if the KPK is not working," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Thursday, February 9.

Ali said any information stating the whereabouts of the fugitives would be investigated. However, he did not specify the extent of the search process.

"For the follow-up, we can't technically convey it. That's what we can convey," he said.

Previously, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) emphasized that law enforcement would work optimally to hunt down fugitives who were being chased. This affirmation was conveyed by Jokowi when asked by reporters about fugitives from the KPK Harun Masiku and Ricky Ham Pagawak.

"It's very technical so that the KPK will answer that it hasn't been found for a year but it's only been 6 months, it's also there. But there are also those who haven't found it. If there are goods, they will definitely be found," Jokowi said in a question and answer during a press conference, Tuesday, February 7.

For information, there are four fugitives who are still being chased by the KPK after they arrested the former Commander of the Free Aceh Movement (GAM) Izil Azhar, who is a suspect in the alleged receipt of gratuities related to the construction of the Sabang Pier.

The first fugitive being pursued was Kirana Kotama, who has been wanted since 2017 for alleged bribery for filing a revision of forest conversion functions in Riau Province in 2014 to the Ministry of Forestry.

Second, Paulus Tannos, who stumbled upon a case of alleged corruption in the procurement of an Electronic Identity Card (e-KTP). He is currently in Singapore.

Furthermore, former candidate Harun Masiku is also still at large. The suspect who gave bribes to former General Elections Commission (KPU) Commissioner Wahyu Setiawan is still unknown.

Finally, the Regent of Central Mamberamo Ricky Ham Pagawak. He was involved in the alleged bribery case for project sharing in his area.
