Jokowi's Assertiveness To Dissolve FPI And Rizieq Shihab To Boost Public Satisfaction

JAKARTA - The government's assertiveness in dissolving the community organization, the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI), is one of the values in boosting public satisfaction. The results of a survey conducted by the Voxpopuli Research Center showed that the level of satisfaction touched 70 percent.

"Entering 2021, the level of people's satisfaction with President Jokowi's leadership has increased, where the satisfaction rate reaches more than 70 percent," said Voxpopuli Research Center Executive Director Dika Moehamad in a written statement, Tuesday, January 5.

At the momentum of one year in the second period in October 2020, the level of satisfaction with Jokowi reached 64.7 percent. The figure has now risen to touch 70 percent, to be precise 72.8 percent.

Meanwhile, the number of dissatisfaction fell from 30.6 percent to 23.3 percent. The rest said they did not know / did not answer (4.7 percent-3.9 percent).

Apart from FPI and Rizieq Shihab, there are more points from the Joko Widodo (Jokowi) administration regarding policies taken during the COVID-19 pandemic. Although admittedly, the COVID-19 outbreak still causes a health crisis to the economy of the community, both in Indonesia and globally.

However, Jokowi's policy choice to balance the problem of the outbreak with the economy was considered by the public to be the most appropriate.

"Of course there are still problems here and there, from the still increasing spread of the virus to corruption in the distribution of social assistance, but in general the public sees Jokowi as the most trustworthy figure," said Dika.

Meanwhile Jokowi made a breakthrough by realizing the Omnibus Law which is believed to be able to bring Indonesia out of structural and bureaucratic obstacles.

The Voxpopuli Research Center survey was conducted on 26-31 December 2020, through telephone calls to 1,200 respondents across Indonesia who were randomly selected from the previous survey since 2019. The survey margin of error was ± 2.9 percent at a 95 percent confidence level.
