JAKARTA - The Minister of Communication and Informatics (Menkominfo) Johnny G Plate is certain not to comply with summons for examination as a witness in the alleged corruption case in the procurement of tower base transceiver stations (BTS) today. The reason is that the Minister of Communication and Information is currently conducting activities in Medan, North Sumatra.

"I received a letter sent by the secretary general of the Ministry of Communication and Information of the Republic of Indonesia regarding the absence of the witness (Johnny G Plate)," said Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) of the Attorney General's Office Ketut Sumedana, Thursday, February 9.

In his letter, Johnny G Plate stated that he was accompanying President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the National Press Day event. In addition, he must also represent the government in a working meeting with Commission I of the DPR.

"So today he will not be examined," he said.

The Attorney General's Office rescheduled Johnny Plate's questioning for Monday, February 13. It's just that, in the notification letter, Johnny G Plate will fulfill the examination on Tuesday, February 14th.

"This means that he also said that he would attend and be able to attend on Tuesday 14 February 2023," said Sunedana

Originally, Johnny G Plate was scheduled to testify as a witness today at 10.00 WIB.

In the investigation into the alleged corruption case of 4G BTS and supporting infrastructure packages 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 of the 2020-2022 Telecommunications and Information Accessibility Agency (Bakti) Kominfo, the AGO has named five suspects.

The suspects are Anang Achmad Latif (AAL) as the Main Director of BAKTI at the Ministry of Communication and Informatics, and Gahole Menak (GMS) as the Main Director of PT Mora Telematics Indonesia.

Then Yohan Suryanto (YS) as a Human Development (HUDEV) expert at the University of Indonesia in 2020, Mukti Ali the suspect from PT Huwaei Technology Investment, and Irwan Hermawan as Commissioner of PT Solitech Media Sinergy.

In this case, the suspects were charged with Article 2 paragraph (1) and Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes in conjunction with Article 55 Paragraph (1) 1st Criminal Code.
