Indonesian GPA Is Down, DPR Sahroni: Eradication Of Our Corruption Is On The Right Path

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission III DPR RI Ahmad Sahroni believes that efforts to eradicate corruption in Indonesia are already on the right track, seen from the cases that have been revealed and policy adaptation perspectives. Previously, Transparency International has released the latest data showing the Corruption Perception Index (IPK) Indonesia is recorded to be down 4 points from 38 in 2021 to 34 from the 0-100 scale in 2022. "For example, there have been many high cases that have been successfully revealed, plus now in terms of policy adaptation and also the active role of the community. I believe we are heading in a very bright direction. So, we are on the right track (so, we are already on the right track)," said Sahroni as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, February 6. Furthermore, he hopes that Indonesia can have a very strict prevention and supervision system. He wants the system to be able to close all the existing corruption gaps so that the ideals to realize Indonesia free from corruption can be created immediately. "Of course I always hope that we can have a strict prevention and monitoring system at all levels. So, keep the full support of OTT, but with a note it must be accompanied by the presence of an unusually strict system," he said. "Because with a qualified system, let alone being caught, let alone trying to steal alone they will not be able to. That way, I am optimistic that the eradication of corruption in our country can accelerate much even greater," continued Sahroni.
