One truck suspected of transporting illegal timber was secured in Kaway XVI District, West Aceh Regency, Aceh Province.

Head of the Technical Planning Section and Utilization of Forest Management Forests (KPH) Region IV Aceh, Fakhurrazi Yus said his party secured nearly 5 cubic meters of wood allegedly illegal in the operation.

"There are about 4-5 cubic meters of wood that we have secured at the office," he said in Meulaboh, Aceh, Sunday, February 5, which was confiscated by Antara.

He said the arrest of a truck with police number BL 8362 AC was carried out by officers in the Pasi Jambu Village area, Kaway XVI District, West Aceh Regency while heading to kea rah Meulaboh, the local district capital.

In addition, officers also examined a driver who was suspected of carrying the illegal wood named Iskandar S, a resident of Manggie Village, Panton Reue District, West Aceh Regency.

"Especially for the current driver, we have allowed him to go home, and later we will call again if the information is needed," he said.

He said the truck carrying about five cubic meters of wood was arrested by officers, after the driver carrying the wood allegedly could not show the complete documents.

So then the truck was taken by officers to the KPH Regional IV Aceh Office in the Suak Ribee area, Meulaboh, West Aceh, for further development.

According to Fakhrul Razi, his party is still investigating where the source of the wood brought from, to ascertain whether these wood came from community plantation areas or other areas.

"Currently we have secured all the evidence, and we are still waiting for the completeness of the documents for the wood," he said.
