Consider Stunting Handling In Tangerang Good, Coordinating Minister For Human Development And Culture Asks City Governments To Press Again Up To 5 Percent

Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Muhadjir Effendy assessed that the handling of stunting and poverty in Tangerang City was good. He asked other regions to replicate programs and innovations in the Banten area.

Tangerang Mayor Arief R. Wismansyah explained that the stunting management program was carried out starting from preventive to curative steps from the pre-marriage couple to the process of growing and developing the first 1,000 days of baby life.

"Interventions are carried out starting from education for teenagers, training and assistance by cadres to stunting toddler services," said Arief at the online event.

With these programs and handlings, said Arief, the stunting rate for Tangerang City is based on the 2022 Indonesian Nutrition Status Survey (SSGI) data at 11.8 and this figure is lower than the Banten Province figures and national standards.

"Our target is that the stunting rate in Tangerang City can be reduced to below 5," he said.

Meanwhile, regarding extreme poverty, Arief explained that the extreme poverty rate in Tangerang City in 2022 will decrease compared to the previous year, where in 2022 the extreme poverty rate will be 0.75, while in 2021 it will be at 1.6.

"We propose that local governments can use regional budgets sourced from BTT so that the process can be faster and immediately submitted to underprivileged communities," he said.
