JAKARTA - The Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) has launched a Community Movement for the Installation of 1 million markers (GEMAPATAS) to increase awareness of marking its land.

Head of the Public Relations Bureau (Humas) of the Ministry of ATR/BPN Yulia Jaya Nirmawati explained, 1 million stakes will be installed simultaneously throughout Indonesia on Friday, February 3 tomorrow.

GEMAPATAS is a series of preparations for the implementation of the Integrated Systematic Land Registration Acceleration (PTSL) activity in 2023.

"Installation of land boundary markers is the community's obligation before registering the land, so that when the measurement officer will measure the land boundary it can be easier and faster. In addition, to secure assets and ensure certainty of land parcel boundaries," said Yulia in a written statement in Jakarta, Thursday, February 2, quoted by Antara.

Patok batas bidang tanah tersebut nantinya akan dipasang oleh masing-masing pemilik tanah dengan persetujuan pemilik tanah yang berbatas. Dengan terpataknya petok batas bidang tanah maka batas bidang tanah akan makin jelas.

"Then, because when the installation gets approval with the bordered landowner, there will be no more border disputes that have occurred so far," said Yulia.

The simultaneous installation of stakes through this GEMAPATAS will be launched directly by the Minister of ATR/Head of BPN Hadi Tjahjanto at the location of the implementation center, namely Cilacap Regency, Central Java Province. The declaration of the boundary marker for the land parcel was carried out together with the community who owns the land.

"In addition to Cilacap Regency, the Minister will also witness virtual installation activities carried out throughout Indonesia," said Yulia.

The installation of stakes will also take place in Indonesia's outermost provinces bordering other countries such as Aceh, West Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, East Nusa Tenggara, and Papua.

The installation of 1 million Patok will later be recorded by the Indonesian World Record Museum (MURI) as a form of appreciation to the Ministry of ATR/BPN.

"The main goal of this activity is to increase public awareness in order to install and maintain the land boundary mark. If we can fulfill the provisions and receive the award from MURI, that is a bonus," he said.

Furthermore, Yulia said the standard stock used could be made of concrete, iron, or paralon pipe with a length of at least 50 cm and a mid-line of at least 5 cm. The installation is inserted into the 30 cm long soil and the remaining 20 cm long as a sign above the ground.
