Met Jokowi 1 Hour 20 Minutes, Surya Paloh: There Is No Change From The President, The Atmosphere Of Good Acceptance

JAKARTA - The general chairman of the NasDem Party, Surya Paloh, opened his voice about the summons by President Joko Widodo to the State Palace last week. According to him, the alleged reshuffle on which the summons was based was very multiple interpretations.

"Yes, in the atmosphere ahead of the election, multiple interpretations can happen anywhere, anytime, by anyone, but what is clear is that the meeting with Mr. President Jokowi is there. In a relatively normal time, it is quite long for me for a President's time, yes, more than 1 hour 20 minutes, yes," said Surya Paloh after a meeting at the Golkar DPP Office, Jakarta, Wednesday, February 1.

Paloh said he did not see anything change from Jokowi's attitude. So he said, the suspicion of reshuffling the ministers from NasDem was not yet seen.

"I don't see any change, the atmosphere of acceptance is good in whatever I understand, in understanding the communication that usually occurs. So this is the first," he said. Therefore, explained Paloh, for NasDem to provide support for Jokowi's leadership not only as rhetoric and interests for a moment, but indeed there is sincerity. So regarding the reshuffle, NasDem completely left it to President Jokowi. "It's different if there is a policy from him, now there is no problem for me," he said.

"So, it means whatever the best policy, the simple reshuffle problem for me to repeat, is entirely the prerogative of the President. So if someone says reshuffle, this is, well we really have to understand, this is a process in maturation and maturity in politics in the country, that's for all of us," added Paloh.

Surya Paloh also denied that his visit to Golkar was an order from President Jokowi. According to him, the arrival of NasDem to political parties was to maintain coolness ahead of the 2024 General Election.

" Orally, it doesn't exist. I don't know his inner atmosphere, but what I know is that everything is good. President Jokowi, me, Mas Airlangga, and all government coalition parties should prioritize a conducive atmosphere, which is a bit cool," said Paloh.

Paloh added, NasDem prioritizes the public interest that misses a strong government. However, on the same side, it still maintains the empathy of public conscience for the current situation. "Well, I think that's what we want to achieve and I believe it remains, and still remains strong in a person like President Jokowi," he said.
