The Peak Of Christmas And New Year Holiday Backflow, Avoid Traveling Tomorrow

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) predicts that the peak traffic flow will occur this weekend. Given that 40 percent of vehicles have not returned to Jabodetabek.

The Directorate General of Land Transportation recorded a movement of 638,489 vehicles from 22 December to 27 December. Through the data collected at the Cikampek Utama, Kalihurip, Cikupa, and Ciawi Toll Gates, there are 254,861 vehicles that have not returned.

"So far, based on predictions, the peak of backflow will occur at the end of this week or Sunday January 3," said Director General of Land Transportation Budi Setiyadi in his statement, Friday, December 1.

Director General Budi appealed to the public or motorists to avoid traveling at the peak of traffic flow. As for the reverse flow, if possible, the community should return to Jabodetabek as soon as possible, so that the trip is comfortable and safe.

"Therefore, we appeal to the public to arrange travel schedules to stay comfortable and avoid traffic buildup on Sunday," said Budi.

From the data collected by the Directorate General of Hubdat, it was also noted that the movement of vehicle flows occurred on Thursday or coincided with New Year's Eve. At least 176,365 vehicles left Jakarta, with the largest number in Cikampek Utama eastward with 55,188 vehicles.

"Go home early, the hours must also be arranged so that if you travel in the morning you won't be sleepy," said Director General Budi.
