107 People Arrested By Police After Riot In Aremania Demonstration

MALANG - Malang City Police arrested 107 people after the riot that occurred during a demonstration carried out by supporters of Arema FC, or commonly known as Aremania.

Malang City Police Chief Kombes Budi Hermanto said the 107 people who were arrested were suspected of being at the crime scene (TKP) when the demonstration took place.

"Currently it is still being investigated by the Malang City Police. If there is no connection and an unlawful act, we will return it to the family," said Budi, as reported by ANTARA, Sunday, January 29 evening.

The demonstration initiated by the Arek Malang Bersikap group on Sunday (29/1) at around 11.30 WIB ended in chaos. The Arema FC office at Mayjend Panjaitan Street Number 42, Klojen District, Malang City was damaged.

The demonstrators who wore all black clothes threw stones at the Kandang Singa store which was also the official store Arema FC. Singo Edan's official store was damaged quite badly and three people were reported injured.

Budi explained that his party will take law enforcement steps and arrest the perpetrators of an anarchic demonstration, including exploring the existence of intellectual actors behind the action being carried out.

In addition, the Malang City Police will carry out security at the Arema FC office until the investigation of the perpetrators is declared complete.

"In order to maintain the conduciveness of Malang City, the Malang City Police will carry out security at the TKP until the investigation of the perpetrators is declared complete," he said.

After the action that led to chaos, the commissioner of PT Arema Aremania Bersatu Berprestasi (PT AABBI), Tatang Dwi Arifianto, said he regretted the incident. Arema FC's management said they were open to dialogue with Aremania.
