JAKARTA - The arrival of the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir commemorating the 50th anniversary of the United Development Party (PPP) in Cilegon, Banten, Saturday, January 28, was warmly welcomed. The president's screams from sympathizers echoed when Erick Thohir delivered his remarks.

The president's screams began when the Chairman of the PPP DPW Subadri Proposudin wanted to close his remarks. He then mentioned Erick Thohir's presence at the event.

"Let's pray for Mr. Erick Thohir to become president. Let's scream together. President... president... president...," said Subadri, followed by cadres to PPP sympathizers who attended the event, quoted from a written statement received by the editor.

Erick was then invited to give a speech as Chairman of the Sharia Community Economics. Sympathizers continue to make the president proud by sympathizers.

"President, president, president," shouted participants, greeted with a smile by Erick Thohir.

Erick only smiled when the president shouted at him. Erick immediately conveyed about the sharia economy in Indonesia. He admitted that he was sad when he was first appointed as chairman.

"I was appointed as Chairman of the Islamic Economic Community, which is to think about how the economy of the people can progress. But I am sad, Indonesia is a country with the largest Muslim population in the world. But why am I sad? When I see, study, it turns out, even though we are an Islamic country with a large population, we do not have Islamic banks that enter the top 10 banks in Indonesia," said Erick.

Erick took the policy of combining state-owned Islamic banks into Indonesian Sharia Banks. Currently, said Erick, BSI is included in the top 10 banks in Indonesia.

"As a minister, I combined into the first Islamic bank in the history of the Republic of Indonesia and entered the top 10 Indonesian Banking," he explained.
